THE PREPARATIONS FOR "HOLIDAY & SPA EXPO" 2018 HAD STARTED

The ended last week, 34-th edition of the largest international tourist exhibition in Bulgaria - "Holiday & Spa Expo" 2017, will be remembered with a record number of participants, presenting new tourism products and attractive destinations. Among the important dominants in the program of the forum is the more emphatically stated position of the companies and nongovernmental organizations of the business for effective changes in the institutional regulation of the most successful developing economic sector.

With more than 380 participants from 20 countries worldwide, International Fair "Holiday & Spa Expo" strengthen its leading position on the Balkans. More than 20 000 visitors were able to take advantage of an attractive discounts, which this year reached 30 percent in the days of the event. Fifty Bulgarian municipalities competed for the attention of tourist companies and the tourists. Every year their presenting is becoming more attractive and significantly expands the access to end customers of the local tourism service providers.

For first time in the recent years, tourism event was opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria. Prof. Ognyan Gerdjikov and the acting tourism minister - Stella Baltova highlighted the importance of the tourism sector for the Bulgarian economy and expressed their expectations that the hospitality industry will be able to maintain its upward trend, also this year.

"We have wonderful nature, climate and all resources to develop a successful tourism" - shared the Prime Minister at the opening of the forum and highlighted the need to increase the knowledge and skills to utilize this invaluable resource.

For the establishment of Bulgaria as a preferred destination for short trips, contributes the increasing number of companies find low cost flights to our country. Cultural and sporting events are among the most effective incentives to visit Bulgaria and the opportunity to promote our country as a promising business destination.

Tourism industry used the forum to present their views on the changes in the current legislation and declare their readiness for effective partnership with the institutions. Among the 10 priority areas that need to find their proper regulation are the categorization of tourist destinations, training and qualification of personnel in tourism, application of information technology, effective international partnership and others.

The two largest business associations of tour operators in Bulgaria - The Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents (ABBTA) and the Bulgarian Association of Tourist Agencies (BATA) announced in the days of the International Fair "Holiday and Spa Expo", their intention for future merger. Merger will increase the representativeness of the members in the consultative bodies at the national level, but will also ensure the institutions consolidated expert potential in the search for adequate solutions to the problems of tourism.

Within the 34-th edition of the "Holiday & Spa Expo" was promoted the idea of creating a museum of the Bulgarian tourism. Work on the project is already underway, and the new museum will trace the history of Bulgarian tourism through documents, photos and unique items stored in many private collections. Among the topics of the future museum of tourism will be also the one for national tourist advertising. An important place in this process occupies most longstanding Bulgarian Tourism Fair "Holiday & Spa Expo."

The team of "PRIM EXPO" thanked all participants and visitors of the exhibition, the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria, to the acting minister Stella Baltova and tourism minister in the last regular government Nikolina Angelkova and all professional organizations.

The next jubilee 35th edition of the International Tourism Fair "Vacation and Spa Expo" will be held from 14 to 16 February 2018!
